Easter Table with Centerpiece

I find it so satisfying to put together a “special occasion” table and use what I already have. I love trying to make it unique and different in spite of using elements I find around the house. The only thing I bought for this Easter Table was a few tulips and hydrangeas I picked up at Trader Joes.

Use What You Have – Mix it Up

I love to combine elegant and rustic or formal and casual. To me it keeps you wondering about what might be next.

For this Easter Tablescape I’ve got my mother-in-law’s wedding crystal from 1950 mixed with a casual, woodlands centerpiece, bark-covered candles (these are similar) and gorgeous yellow linen napkins I picked up a couple of years ago at a rummage sale for 25 cents each. The napkins in the link are similar to mine.

The swirl of delicious fabric in the center of the table has somehow, by default, become a signature look for us. In this case, it’s a piece of teal satin that I’ve used several times before. Check out these “no-sew fabric” ideas.

The exact fabric is no longer available, but if you like the look here is one very similar.

Marbled Easter Eggs

I made marbled Easter eggs (I used faux, but you could use real eggs) using three different methods. They were all fun in a “let’s make a little mess” sort of way, and all produced a different look. I reviewed the pros and cons of each for you here. The eggs I used in this tablescape are the “oil” method.

Casual, Woodlands Centerpiece

For the centerpiece, I wanted a casual, woodlands look. I used a big, round, low basket and just dropped a glass pie plate into it with soaked oasis. Do you love foraging outside as much as I do? Everything here I trimmed from plants in my yard, with the exception of the tulips and hydrangeas (too early for those).

I filled in with a little spanish moss and dropped in that nest for the eggs.

And those adorable bunnies? I got those last year at Hobby Lobby. I loved them so much when Easter was over I couldn’t bear putting them up, so they’ve actually been out all year.  These are similar and would be perfect on your table.

Have Fun Setting Your Table

I had fun putting this table together. I hope I’ve inspired you to “mix it up” a little bit when planning your tables. Don’t leave your mother or mother-in-law’s crystal or china in the cabinet collecting dust. Get them out and enjoy and share with those you love. Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway?
